KATHMANDU, May 10 - The informal meeting of the Maoist secretariat on Sunday decided to be ready for “the struggle against those who try to hinder the peace process and constitution drafting.”
"We felt the need to be more serious about facing challenges in the political front,' said the spokesperson of Unified CPN (Maoist) Dinanath Sharma.
According to Sharma, the Maoist party agreed to continue its struggle from the streets, Legislature-Parliament and also through dialogue with other political parties to gain their trust against the president's “unconstitutional” move to reinstate the army chief who was sacked by the cabinet.
The meeting held at Baluwatar today also concluded that other parties were not serious about initiating dialogue for a new coalition government.
"We have not been invited formally in any of their all-party meetings on government formation," said Sharma. "Neither has there been any initiative from the parties to clear the House obstruction."
According to Sharma, the politburo meeting scheduled for Tuesday will announce further protest programmes.
The secretariat today discussed the agenda for tomorrow's politburo meeting.
