Tryweryn is one of those moments
in history when things become clear and the mist lifts and reality dawns.
The overwhelming majority of the people of
Wales were against the creation of this Tryweryn dam to supply water to England with the consequent flooding of the Afon Tryweryn valley.
Even the overwhelming majority of the usually servile Welsh MP’s
did not want the project to go ahead, but the people of Wales were ignored, and
they were reminded who controlled Wales and it clearly was not the Welsh.

Monarchy that dared not use their Welsh name until a 100 years after their
victory at Bosworth Field.They were known as the Richmonds not the Tudors.
This English "Richman" Monarchy rewarded its
English followers with large tracts of
Welsh Land and were careful to hunt down the last descendent of the Welsh
Royal house to kill off the bloodline and extinguish any hope of Welsh Independence.
But the lying Tudor historians
record this as a Welsh King – what an insult to our intelligence.

to the government on 11 April 2012 without writing the People's Federal

50th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATING RISE OF WELSH RESISTANCE IN MILITANT DEFENCE OF WALES.
Mudiad Amddiffyn Cymru (Movement for the Defence of Wales), abbreviated as MAC, was a paramilitary Welsh nationalist organisation, which was responsible for a number of bombing incidents between 1963 and 1969.
MAC was initially set up in response to the flooding of the Afon Tryweryn valley and the flooding of the village of Capel Celyn to provide water for Liverpool.
Its founders were Owain Williams, John Albert Jones and Emyr Llywelyn Jones. On 10 February 1963 a transformer at the dam construction site was blown up by three men, of whom one, Emyr Llywelyn Jones was identified, convicted and sentenced to one year's imprisonment. MAC blew up an electricity pylon at Gellilydan on the day of his conviction. This led to the arrest and conviction of Owain Williams and John Albert Jones.
The effective leadership of the organization was later taken over by John Barnard Jenkins, a non-commissioned officer in the British Army. Under his leadership, MAC is widely suspected by British police to have been behind the bombing of the Clywedog dam construction site in 1966. [1] In 1967 a pipe carrying water from Lake Vyrnwy to Liverpool was blown up.
Later the same year MAC exploded a bomb at the Temple of Peace and Health in Cardiff's civic centre, close to a venue which was to be used for a conference to discuss the Investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. In 1968 a tax office in Cardiff was blown up, followed the same year by the Welsh Office building in the same city, then another water pipe at Helsby, Cheshire.
In April 1969 a tax office in Chester was the next target. On 30 June 1969, the evening before the investiture, two members of MAC, Alwyn Jones and George Taylor, were killed when a bomb they had been placing near government offices exploded prematurely.
On the day of the investiture, two other bombs were planted in Caernarfon, one in the local police constable's garden which exploded as the 21 gun salute was fired. Another was planted in an iron forgery near the castle but failed to go off.
The final bomb was placed on the Llandudno Pier and was designed to stop the Royal Yacht Britannia from docking - this too failed to explode. In November 1969 John Jenkins was arrested, and in April 1970 was convicted of eight offences involving explosives and sentenced to ten years' imprisonment.
In an interview shown above on the BBC2 on 4 July 2009, John Jenkins repeated his intention that the bombs were never planted or timed to hurt people but just to disrupt the ceremony.
Although there were further bombings, there is no evidence that MAC were involved.

Homage to Comrade Shansmughutan on the 20th Anniversary of his death by Indian Comrade
Homage to Comrade Shan (died on February 7th,1993)
Today the world Communist movement commemorates the 20th death anniversary of Com.Shansmughutan from Ceylon.The feature of his entire life was the relentless spirit with which he defended the Marxist-Leninist polemics be it on the International questions or on the internal Tamil ethnic question.
Com Shan was an outstanding master of revolutionary polemics and refuted Trotyskite ,Hoxhaite and New left trends with equal disdain. In the 1950’s he brilliantly refuted Trotskyite intellectuals who dominated the Marxist movement in Ceylon.
Till the last day of his life he reverberated the flame of Marxism-Lenism Mao-Tse Tung Thought. He was a harsh critique of Che Guevara’s foco theory and of philosophers like Louis Althusser.He carried the banners of Marxist-Leninist ideology like a crusader blazing a red light everywhere. Few revolutionaries of the last 4 decades possessed such ideological clarity and polemical mastery. It was most fitting that Shan was one of the first comrades outside China to meet Comarde Mao during the Cultural Revolution.Shan even addressed a meeting of red guards.
Com.Shan was a Tamil born in a racist society. He was arrested for his political views in 1972 by Sirima Bandarnaike. In jail his essays made an impact on public rarely experienced in Ceylon.They could relate to the broad masses like no other leftist ideologue.
Com Shan stood by the Tamil National Liberation Struggle but was critical of the lack of proletarian class analysis of the Tamil Tigers. He refuted the chauvinist tendencies of the L.T.T.E. led by Prabhakaran or the Jan Mukti Perumana.
He tooth and nail defended the need of the leadership of a revolutionary party in the Tamil Liberation Struggle.
He defended the cause of national liberation of the Tamil people ,applauding the struggle of the Tigers.However he consistently pointed out the flaws in their military tactics .Often Tamil public opinion went against this but like a brave soldier he relentlessly defended his thoughts. On the universal law of Comrade Mao Tse Tung’s theory of Peoples War.
He tooth and nail defended the need of the leadership of a revolutionary party in the Tamil Liberation Struggle.

One of the major causes of defeat of the Tamil Tigers led by Prabhakaran was their inability to grasp the Maoist polemics of protracted peoples War..It lost out not paying respect to the ideology of Comrade Shan.In fact Com Shan’s polemics are a staunch lesson for Maoist revolutionaries in India who upheld nationality struggles of armed groups in Assam and Kashmir or even Sri Lanka with analyzing proletarian class content.
Above all he was one of the most staunch defenders of the Communist party of Peru’s peoples War led by Com.Guzman. He played a major role in the founding of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement and strove till his last breadth for the release of the captured Com Gonzalo, chairman of the Communist Party of Peru.
The best memories of Com.Shan’s life were in his memoirs of an unrepentant Communist where he defended the tenets of Marxism Leninism with the sharpness of a sword. He withstood multiplicity of illnesses in the last decade of his life but his inner spirit reverberated like a red flame which he reflected through the pen.
The loss of Com.Shan was a loss to the entire International Communist Movement as a whole who could have played an invaluable role in combating the deviationist tendencies prevailing in the International Communist Movement today.
Let us all wish red salutes to Com Shan today on his 20th death anniversary and dip our blood in his memory.May his revolutionary spirits give birth to many more revolutionaries like him.

Shanmugathasan hailed from a family of modest means in the town of Manipay in Jaffna District.[1] He began studying history at the University College Colombo in 1938, where he first came into contact with communist ideas and met supporters of the Communist Party of Great Britain who had returned from studying atCambridge University. In 1939 he and two fellow students were suspended, but soon reinstated, from the university for distributing anti-imperialist flyers after the outbreak of World War II. Shanmugathasan gained notoriety among the students after this action and in 1940 won in the student election to become General Secretary of the University Union Society.[2] The next year he was elected President of the Society. In the meantime, he was organizing a group of Communists among the students that opposed both British imperialism and the Trotskyists of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party.

French Press Censor results of Breton Survey

A popular Breton magazine is at the centre of a controversial debate about the freedom of the French press following the censorship of a front page story by the boss of a well known French newspaper, who owns a share in the publication.
The February 2013 edition of 'Bretons; magazine featured a front page story of the results of a survey showing that 18% of people in Brittany are in favour of independence.However Francois Hutin from the French newspaper 'Ouest-France;, which owns a 30% stake inthe magazine and distributes the publication across Brittany,apparently disagreed with the article and demanded that the story was changed. The difficulty was the magazine had already been printed and was on sale from last weekend. Nevertheless, despite the cost, the magazine was withdrawn from the shelves of newsagents, a new leading article written (with the less controversial title of '69% of Bretons do not know their History' ) and the new edition is expected to be ready for sale once again throughout Brittany from today (1st February).
It seems though that the debate has only just begun with a spokesperson from the French union, Confédération française démocratique du travail (CFDT), condemning the move, saying that the decision to pull the magazine from the shelves and change the article was an act of censorship, unbecoming of a newspaper boss who has consistently advocated for the freedom of information. The editor of the 'Bretons; magazine, Didier Le Corre, argued that the magazine was withdrawn, because of a printing problem.
According to the survey, commissioned by the magazine and undertaken by Institut Français d'Opinion Publique (IFOP), 18% of respondents from Brittany were in favour of independence, 48% of respondents feel French first and 37% felt Breton first. The survey also found out that 44% of respondents were supportive of the reunification of Brittany and 36% were against reunification.
The French state is usually proud of its reputation for the freedom of its press, with the French government last September even banning protests against the publication of a French satirical magazine that published a cartoon denigrating Islam's Prophet Mohammad. However it seems that the results of surveys into the opinion of Breton people about their views of Breton self determination and their sense of identity are far too controversial to publish even for the French press!

RAMALLAH: Speaking at a panel discussion in Istanbul, Turkey, Palestinian icon Leila Khaled denounced the Syrian opposition, arguing that what is presently occurring in Syria cannot be called a “revolution,” according to Angry Arab News Service.
Khaled, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), acknowledged the “legitimate demands” of the Syrian people, but said that the armed opposition is “fighting for a different agenda,” Angry Arab reports. She suggested that the Syrian opposition is part of a broader US foreign policy agenda in the Middle East, in which Turkey, the Arab Gulf states, and the United States aim to ensure Israel’s security.
“Those who are hosting US airbases cannot stand with the struggle of Palestinians,” Khaled said.
According to Dicle News Agency, she added, “The most concrete examples of the USA’s hegemony in the Middle East are the countries including Turkey, which host American bases [and] camps. I have a say for the regimes, which are being danced like chess pieces by the USA, do not forget the uprisings [that] Egyptian and Tunisian people launched. Give up collaborating with imperialists. Due to the fact that when peoples rise up, the USA is going to abandon you.”
The panel discussion was titled, “What’s happening in Syria,” and was hosted by Turkey’s Socialist Anew Foundation.
“Whatever kind, we are against outside intervention in Syria. People are faithful in respect to the question of defending their hometowns. I’m calling on Arab countries leaders who are in the collaboration; Don’t try your peoples patience. Look, remember Hitler. Remember the history. Hitler eradicated Europe and launched World War 2. However, Hitler is now in the garbage dump of the history,” Khaled said, adding that everyone is guilty of Hitler’s crimes.
Khaled is known primarily for her involvement in large PFLP operations in the 1970s, including a pair of plane-hijackings that resulted in her icon status among Palestinians and leftwing internationals.
The Angry Arab’s As’ad Abu Khalil criticized Khaled, saying, “I believe that Leila Khaled has compromised herself in recent years with ties to the Hariri family. Furthermore, the present-day PFLP has been compromised: its branch in Syria works closely with the Syrian regime while its branch in the West Bank works closely with the PA collaborationist regime. The organization should have been dissolved long time ago, if you ask me.”
