HARSH THAKOR SAYS SALUTE INEXTINGUISHABLE FLAME OF NAXALBARI SHIMMERING IN 50TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR IN GIRIDH CARRYING ON THE LEGACY OF NAXALBARI REBELLION TO WORKERS AND ADIVASIS.

THE GREAT MIGHT OF THE STATE CANNOT CRUSH ITS INVINCIBLE SPIRIT.THE FLAME OF NAXALBARI WILL NEVER DIE AND ILLUMINATE FOREVER TO EXTINGUISH THE DARK FORCES OF FASCISM.

SALUTE MAZDOOR SANGHATA SAMITI FOR SHIMMERING TORCH OF NAXALBARI BY STAGING PROGRAMME ON AUGUST 20TH COMMEMORATING 50 YEARS OF NAXALABRI IN GIRIDH REGION OF JHARKHAND AND DEFYING ATEMPTS OF AUTHORITIES TO FOIL IT.

FITTING REPLY TO THE DARKNESS OF FASCISM PREVAILING AND AN INSPIRATION TO ALL DEMOCRATIC FORCES.

40000 PEOPLE MOBILIZED CREATING VIBRATIONS OF THE EARTH SHAKING OR A THUNDERSTORM TAKING PLACE.PROOF THAT THE FLAME OF NAXALBARI WILL NEVER DIE LIKE AN INEXTINGUISHABLE TORCH WHICH IS OF GREAT RELEVANCE IN THE DARK HOUR OF FASCISM.

Commemorating the historic 50 years of the great Naxalbari peasant uprising a rally and public meeting was held by Mazdoor Sanghatana Samiti in Giridh town in Jharkhand comprising around 40,000 people..

After paying homage to all the martyrs of Naxalbari the meet was inaugurated by Varavara Rao, founder of VIRASAM and president of Revolutionary Democratic Front .

The meeting had great significance as it was addressed to the working class within which the Maoist movement has not made significant inroads.

It also comprised over a thousand Adivasi women workers which was encouraging. Varavara Rao summarized the history of the naxalbari movement and it's ressurection through great strides in Dandkaranya.1lakh activists comprised women activists and 10,00 landless peasants. In the guerilla zone or Jantana Sarkars in Dandkaranya exploitation of dalits or landless labourers or adivasis was non-existent.

Varavara Rao explained how Naxalbari struggle shimmered the torch of Maoism which spread all over the country. He explained how Maoists provided basic necessities .

In his view the current economic policies of 'India Shining' promoted by Narendra Modi were fascist in nature and totally negated the needs of the broad masses. The united peoples liberation front in his view wasa major development. In his view the determination of the Maoist forces in Jahrakhand would prevent the ruling party their ain acheiving their objective of crushing the maoist movement.

The killing of 68 persons in Gorakhpur Hospital was condemned in no uncertain terms by V.V. who equated New India with the Gorakhpur hospital. Finally he also referred to the need to re-open the 70 textiles in Jharkhand .

The police tried to obstruct the rally outside the ground near Moti Cinema but were unsuccessful.

Baccha Singh, leader of mazdor sanghatna samiti spoke about the state repression nad the organized movement to combat it.Vistaphan Virodhi manch leader Damodar spoke on the tribal and farmers resistance to repression.Cultural programmes were also staged.

Activists who played a prominent role were Ajit Rai,Kanhai Pandey,Navin Pandey,RamMahato,Akhil Yadav and Shanti Devi.

Activists apart from Mazdoor sanghatana leader Baccha Singh and V.V.Rao  that participated were Bokaro thermal women workers union secretary Sumtra Devi, stage secretary Kedar Rai and Giridh Shaka's representative Pradhan Murmu

The significant aspect was the mobilization of the workers and the ability of activists to resist the administration's attempt to foil the event.

Such acts will be of great importance in combating fascist trends of govt.

The meeting also throws light on the meticulus mass work done by the pro-maoist cadre establishing that it is not a terrorist movement but one that is deeply rooted in the masses.

In spite of ban on most revolutionary mass organizations official or unofficialy this meeting took place, which is great.

Recently in Vaishali the administration similarly tried to foil attempts of such a programme to be held. The meet played an effective role in dispelling any visions of the current Modi regime to be a progressive one and created consciousness on the on ground fascism prevailing in India.

It also could explain the politics of Naxalbari in the language of the broad masses and make them connect it to the class struggles of their day to day lives.
