SUCH AN EVENT IS A LANDMARK IN AWAKENING THE POLITICAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE STUDENT COMMUNITY IN THE ANTI-WOMEN NATURE OF OUR SOCIETY WHICH IS PART AND PARCEL OF THE OVERALL POLITICS OF HINDU SAFFRON FASCISM. ALMOST EVERYDAY IN SOME NOOK AND CORNER OF OUR COUNTRY SOME FORM OF RAPE IS COMMITTED ON A WOMEN WHICH THE POLICE TAKES LYING DOWN.SALUTE THE HEROIC RESISTANCE OF THE STUDENT COMMUNITY, PARTICULARLY GIRLS IN RISING UP AGAINST THE MONSTER .
THE INCIDENT AND STRUGGLE SYMBOLIZES THE STATE OF WOMEN IN THE ENTIRE NATION AND THE RESISTANCE TO COMBAT THEM FROM THEIR CHAINS.OPPRESSION AND RESISTANCE OF WOMEN IS A PART OF THE OPPRESSION OF FEUDALISM AND IMPERIALISM TODAY BLESSED BY FORCES OF SAFFRON FASCISM OF RSS VARIETY.
PERTINENT THAT IT TOOK PLACE IN BENARES HINDU UNIVERSITY WHICH IS BASTION OF THE HINDU SAFFRON BRIGADE
A mighty struggle has been built against the tyranny of the BHU authorities on protesters agitating against the molesting of a girl student. Around 7 organizations united to protest in the campus which is an inspiration to students all over the country combating the oppression of women.
Such assembly is symbolic of the rage in the student community against the Saffron hindu politics as a whole .Some valiant work is being done by forces of the students of Bhagat Singh Chatra Morcha in the campus of Benares University in organizing the student community and explaining the nexus of this incident with the Hindu safron politics.; SFS condemns the brutal lathicharge by Police on protesting students of Banares Hindu University.
The protest started at 6 am, 22 September 2017 in response to the recent cases of sexual harassment on campus. The repeated molestation of girls and vulgar remarks by security officials and wardens of the girls hostels on the character of victim girls students is a common practice in BHU.
This protest was staged against a sexual harassment case where the accused boy had the audacity to put his hands in the victim's leggings while a security official was witnessing everything in front of the Bharat Kala Bhawan inside Campus at around 7 pm. When Ananya (name changed) cried for help and went to the guard afterwards., his reply was to run to her hostel before she is raped.
Another incident was reported where the boys threw stones at the girls hostel and masturbated. The complainant girl was dealt with no sincerity here too and she shaved off her head in this 45 hour protest yesterday. This protest was to ensure the proper measures to be undertaken by BHU authorities for the safety of girl students inside campus.
The students wanted to meet VC Girish Chandra Tripathi to discuss the entire scenario and had been protesting at the gate for 2 days. Their demand was met with a deaf ear from authorities and with lathis, verbal abuses and air fires by police. The police thrashed the students from VC-House ,entered inside girls hostel and beat the girls there too and injured a lot of students esp. Girl students.
We condemn this patriarchal nexus of BHU sanghi authorities and State administration who will go to any heights to implement their anti-woman and regressive ideology as evident from this scenario. We stand alongside the protesting BHU students and appeal progressive and democratic sections of society to stand in support of protesting students.
Friends, Braving brutal lathi charge, beatings and manhandling by police, the protesting girl students are presenting exemplary forms of militant actions. As my friend on the ground Seema Azad wrote on her wall: "one major action in the ongoing agitation in BHU is that the saffron flag with Om written on it flying on the main entrance was thrown out and in its place this banner was set up. The girls have thrown a straight challenge to Manu and that's why Sangh Parivar perturbed."
