Edward Thompson takes us back to importance of Marxist historiography and its studies in British Isles.

While we applaud some of the historical research of Edward Thompson we did not share his Post 1956 politics.

However we can learn from re-visiting the recent past and these ideas - many from this period like Maurice Godelier moved away from Marxism to eclecticism.
