PRESS STATEMENT
By COMMUNIST PARTY OF THE PHILIPPINES
01 July 2013
CPP declares Philippine Solidarity Month for the People’s War in India
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), together with all revolutionary forces in the Philippines, declare July 2013 as Philippine Solidarity Month for the People’s War in India. The CPP issues this declaration in unity with the call of democratic and anti-imperialist forces for an international day of support for the people’s war in India on 1 July. Let us pay our highest tribute to the heroes and martyrs of the Indian people’s revolution, celebrate its victories, and look forward to its further advances in the future.
The CPP calls on all its entire membership, all Red fighters of the New People’s Army (NPA) and all revolutionary forces and people under its leadership to carry out educational and cultural activities all throughout the month of July to further deepen the Filipino revolutionary forces’ understanding of and solidarity with the people’s democratic revolution in India.
Party branches, units of the NPA, chapters of revolutionary mass organizations and governmental departments will devote one or several days of activities during the month of July to carry out such activities as educational discussions, film showings, cultural presentations and mass propaganda undertakings to express solidarity and generate support for the people’s war in India.
In launching the Philippine Solidarity Month for the People’s War in India, the CPP reciprocates the solidarity week launched by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) or CPI-M last 22-28 April coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) last 24 April.
Despite the geographical distance and national peculiarities, the people’s war in India and the Philippines share many similarities. Foremost, both people’s war are under the leadership of communist parties that adhere to Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and which are deeply rooted among the toiling masses of the people.
Both advance the democratic interests of the peasants and indigenous peoples for land against the land monopolists and the encroachment of foreign mining companies and foreign monopoly capitalist plunderers. Both advance the democratic struggles of the workers, youth, students, women and other democratic sectors against the exploiters and oppressors.
The CPI-M is at the helm of the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army in the same manner that the CPP leads the New People’s Army in the Philippines. Both wage extensive and intensive guerrilla warfare while building the people’s organs of democratic political power and waging campaigns to advance the land reform movement. Enjoying widespread support, the PLGA and the NPA continue to expand and accumulate great victories in the field of revolutionary armed struggle.
The people’s war in India and the Philippines are both confronted with brutal campaigns of suppression being carried out by the reactionary forces under the direction of the US imperialist government. The Operation Green Hunt of the Indian reactionaries and the Oplan Bayanihan of the Philippine reactionaries both employ the most abominable forms of armed suppression resulting in gross and widespread violations of human rights. Invariably, these acts of suppression are directed against the revolutionary masses in a vain attempt to terrorize the people.
The US imperialists and the reactionaries vilify the revolutionary forces in India and the Philippines as “terrorists.” They have, however, failed to stymie the growth of the people’s revolutionary movements in India and the Philippines which both have advanced steadily with the deep and broad support of the people. The people’s war in India and the Philippines have repeatedly and decisively frustrated the reactionaries’ attempts at armed suppression as they firmly adhere to the people’s aspirations for democracy.
The Indian and Philippine revolutionary forces both seek and work to help build a broad international anti-imperialist and democratic movement to advance the interests of the toiling masses amidst the worsening crisis of the international capitalist system and the bankruptcy of the neoliberal policies. The people’s war in India and the Philippines see great potential for revolutionary advancements in the face of the intensification of the exploitation and oppression of peoples in both capitalist and semi-colonial and semifeudal countries.
The CPP acclaim the CPI-M and all revolutionary forces in India for persevering along the road of people’s war. The people’s of the world anticipate the growth and great advance of the people’s war in India as the people of India continue to rise up and revolt against the oppression and exploitation of the ruling classes and the imperialists. The peoples of the world see the epic dimensions and potentials of the people’s war in India to change the face of the earth in a big way, in much the same way that the victory of the revolution in China and Russia altered the international balance of the class struggle.
The Filipino people look forward to the complete victory of the Indian revolution even as they seek to achieve victory in their own homeland. The Filipino and Indian people are serving the interests of the proletariat and peoples around the world by waging people’s wars in their homelands and dealing armed blows against the imperialist and their reactionary lackeys. Their advances and victories will indubitably inspire all other peoples of the world to stand up against the imperialists and wage revolution to achieve national and social liberation.
Xi Jinping: "follow communist ideals" by Maoist Rebel
Democracy and Class Struggle combats views of China which do not recognise its capitalist social character, has we see this recognition has a precondition for return of socialism to China.
We take the view that some of Henry CK Liu writings overestimate socialism in the State sector in China and Samir Amin confuses state ownership of Land has a form of pre-socialism, he should be well aware that nationalisation of land is a capitalist demand.
Lenin's views on Land Nationalisation was clear :
"consequently the concept of nationalisation of the land, in terms of economic reality, is a category of commodity and capitalist society"
For some of Mao's thoughts on Land ownership and in particular the signifcance of a 1962 Law popularly known as the 60 Articles , guaranteed, in the words of Peter Ho that collective ownership was invested in the lowest level: the production team - ie the village. Chairman Mao's time a 1962 Law popularly known as the 60 Articles , guaranteed, in the words of Peter Ho that collective ownership was invested in the lowest level: the production team - ie the village.

Concerning the above video we at Democracy and Class Struggle identify one of the reasons for the current marxist rhetoric of the Chinese leadership has emanating from the contradictions with US imperialism and Obama's aggressive Asia Pivot and TPP polices.
The Chinese Military are fed up with kneeling before US Imperialist expansion in the Pacific and want to defend China's national interests unlike some of the comprador Chinese leaders.

Statement in English and Turkish: Remembering Comrade Azad - We shall never forget our comrade or forgive his murderers - The Indian Comprador State : Statement in English and Turkish
We republish statement from Communist Party of India Maoist on his murder in 2010
Picture: Comrade Azad
COMMUNIST PARTY OF INDIA (MAOIST) CENTRAL COMMITTEE
North Regional Bureau Press statement
3rd July, 2010
It is not an encounter at all!! It is a cold blooded murder by AP Police!!
Red Salutes to Martyrs com. Azad (Cherukuri Rajkumar) and com. Hem Pandey (Jitender)!!
Let us avenge the killings of the beloved comrades by the khaki clad fascist gangs of AP government!!
Azad was arrested at Nagpur on June 1st along with com. Hem Pandey
On June 1st, the notorious Andhra Pradesh Special Branch Police for its abductions and cold blooded murders, have arrested com. Azad, Polit Bureau member and Spokesperson of CPI (Maoist), and com. Hem Pandey, a zonal committee level comrade in Nagpur city around 11’o clock when they went to meet a comrade who was supposed to receive them from Dandakarnaya zone. Com. Azad reached Nagpur around 10 am on the fateful day along with com. Hem Pandey, after travelling from long distance. With specific information, the lawless goons of AP SIB abducted them, perhaps flown them in a helicopter, to Adilabad jungles near Maharashtra border and killed them point block and in cold blood.
We pay our red homage to our beloved comrades and vow to take vengeance of these killers.
Life of com. Azad
Comrade Azad is one of the senior most party leaders of CPI (Maoist). He was born in Krishna district of AP, in a well to do family. He did his school education in Sainik School, at Korukonda of the present Vizianagaram District. Com. Surapuneni Janardhan, a legendary comrade of the student movement brought com. Raj Kumar into RSU in 1974. A brilliant student at the Regional Engineering College, which became famous as Radical Engineering College in those days, he finished his Mtech in Chemical Engineering and moved to Vishakhapatnam as per the Party direction. He was the second president of AP Radical Students Union till 1984. He was the catalyst behind many all Andhra wide student agitations and peoples movements in that period. He became the district committee member of vizag unit of the CPI (ML) (PW). He moved length and breadth of India, to organize the Seminar on Nationality question held in Madras (now Chennai) in 1981. He was shifted to Karnataka in 1982 and com. Azad was one of the founder members of the Karnataka Party and worked as the secretary of the Karnataka State Committee. He was taken into CC, after the Central Plenum in 1990. He was the elected member of CC in the All India conference in 1995 and since then he served in CC and PB. He continued in those posts after the formation of CPI Maoist too in 2004. He has been the spokes person of the CC since then.
Known for his simple life and hard work; voracious reading and brilliant analyses of situations, crystal clear articulation and sharp logic, and fine organizational skills, he contributed widely to the revolutionary movement in many spheres. He wrote profusely to the People’s March, Peoples war (theoretical organ of the CPI (Maoist), and to the Maoist Information Bulletin. He wrote a fine critique of the intellectuals of AP, who got disillusioned and lost faith in revolutionary movement after the 1990 events of collapse of soviet imperialism and its satellite regimes.
In his death, the Indian revolutionary movement lost an exemplary comrade and a shining star, who served the movement more than three and half decades.
Just before his last journey, he received questions for interview from a well known magazine. He replied that he was in the journey and would send the answers as early as possible.
It is not Sukhdev, but com. Hem Pandey of Uttarakhand who was killed by APSIB
Com. Hem Pandey, 30, hailed from a nearby village of Pithoragarh town of Uttarakhand State. He did his MA history in Nainital University and got himself registered in PhD. While he was in college, he was active member of AISA, and slowly realizing he pseudo revolutionary character of AISA politics, he moved to the radical groups, later in 2001 he joined the then CPI (ML) (PW). He organized peasantry in the mountainous villages in Almora district, taking up umpteen numbers of issues of peasantry, including the problems arose out of Binsar Sanctuary. Soft-spoken, bespectacled, lean and energetic Com. Hem won the love of people of that region. He was moved into more important works in 2005. He had done his new assignments with patience and endurance. His appetite for learning new things, reading more and more, and zeal for penning his ideas are things for the emulation for all the revolutionaries. He has written various articles to newsmagazines under various pen names. We request the civil rights organisations to demand the A P police to send the body of com. Hem Pandey to his bereaved mother who is in Haldwani, Uttarakhand state, who is his sole surviving parent.
APSIB- the Indian avatar of Mossad
The Andhra Pradesh Special Intelligence Bureau, which has been partially trained partially by the Mossad, has acquired the notoriety of its master trainer-Mossad, in India. It has been moving across the state borders, and conducting abductions and cold blooded murders with impunity. This is all happening with clear blessings of Manmohan- Sonia and Chidambaram. This fascist gang has established its tentacles all over India, resorting the killings of revolutionaries, scoffing at the recent AP high court judgement that all encounters are to be first booked as murders under IPC 302, Ultimaely these killers will be taken to task by the revolutionary masses.
Will Chidambaram expect CPI (Maoist) to sit for talks with his blood on his hands of com. Azad and com. Hem Pandey?
CPI (Maoist) never contested or raised any hue and cry in the case of real encounters. The AP Police is resorting to globbeian lies, not believed even by gullible. CPI (Maoist) stood for truth and accountability to the people, and always stated facts. There is no such programme of Azad going to Sarkepally forest of Adilabad. Azad was going to discuss with our comrades, inter alia, the concrete proposals of well meaning people like Swamy Agnivesh about particular dates for the mutual cease fire. He was a carrying the confidential letter of Swamy Agnivesh written to Azad dated- 26th June 2010. Will Chidambaram expect CPI (Maoist) to sit for talks with his blood on his hands of com. Azad and com. Hem Pandey? He calls repeatedly to us to abjure violence? Killing the unarmed comrades by AP Police with your blessings – is it not like devils chanting scriptures?
White lies by AP Police
When there is no movement and organization in Adilabad, what is the necessity of Azad going to Azad? That the police found AK47 is again white lie. He alighted from a train around 10 am along with com. Hem Pandey in Nagpur Station, and was caught by the APSIB unarmed. Is the government following its own constitution of article 21? Is the government following kernel of the Geneva Convention that “defenceless persons” should not be harmed? Is it not utter hypocrisy and hoax that on one hand the government is placing the prevention of torture bill and the police every minute resorting to the torture of the detained? It is a concocted story of encounter repeated ad nauseum, by the AP Police, churned out to the media umpteen times. The right life, guaranteed under the constitution is mocked and the right to be produced within 24 hours of the arrest is metamorphasized into killing within 24hours of arrest, so that there is no scope for any redressal by their near and dear.
We appeal to the civil rights organizations, democrats, patriots to raise to raise to the occasion thoroughly investigate this fake encounter as an example of extra judicial killing that are happening in scores in this country and bring out the truth before the people.

Spokes Person,

Şehit yoldaş Azad’ı (Cherukuri Rajkumar) ve yoldaş Hem Pandey’i (Jitender) selamlıyoruz.
Değerli yoldaşlarımızın önünde saygıyla eğiliyor ve katillerinden itikamımızı alacağımızı and içiyoruz
Azad yoldaşın hayatı
Andhra Pradesh’in Krisha bölgesinde, iyi halli bir ailenin çocuğu olarak dünyaya gelen yoldaş Azad, HKP (Maoist)’in üst düzey liderlerinden birisiydi. Kısa süre içinde Hindistan Komünist Partisi-Marksist/Leninist (Halk Savaşı) partisinin [Bu parti, Hindistan Komünist Partisi (Maoist)’in öncellerinden birisidir –çevirenen notu-] bölge komitesi üyeliğine getirildi.
Yoldaş Azad, Halkın Yürüyüşü (People’s March), HKP (Maoist)’in teorik yayın organı Halk Savaşı’na (People’s War) ve Maoist Enformasyon Bülteni’ne (Maoist İnformation Bulletin) çok sayıda yazı yazdı.
Chidambaram ellerinde yoldaş Azad ve yoldaş Hem Padey’in kanları varken HKP (Maoist)’in görüşmeler için masaya oturacağını mı umuyor?
HKP (Maoist) gerçek karşılaşmalar (iki tarafın karşılaşması sonucu çıkan çatışmalar) yaşandığında asla feryat edip ağlamadı. Andra Pradesh polisi avanakların dahi inanmadığı yalanlara başvuruyor. HKP (Maoist) halka karşı gerçeği ve hesap verilebirliği savundu ve her zaman gerçekleri açıkladı.
Azad’ın Adilabad’ın Sarkepally ormanlarında katılacağı bir program söz konusu değildir. Azad, diğer şeylerin yanısıra Swamy Agnivesh gibi iyi niyetli insanların karşılıklı ateşkes için belirli tarihlere dair somut önerilerini yoldaşlarla tartışmak için gidiyordu.
Swamy Agnivesh’in Azad’a yazdığı 26 Haziran 2010 tarihli mektup üzerindeydi. Chidambaram ellerinde yoldaş Azad ve yoldaş Hem Padey’in kanları varken HKP (Maoist)’in görüşmeler için masaya oturacağını mı umuyor?
AP Polisi’nden Beyaz Yalanlar
Maoist Communist Party of France - Long Live People's War in India
Glory to the fallen Comrades for the cause of revolution !
In the occasion of the international day of support to People’s War on July 1st, our Party pay a tribute to the Comrades, men and women, fallen in the frontline, murdered in cold blood, jailed, tortured by reaction.
We particularly salute Comrades Azad and Kishenji’s memory, assassinated on July 1st 2010 and November 24th 2011.
Through the recent attacks carried out by the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA), Communist Party of India (maoist) demonstrated the liveliness of People’s War and the amplitude of the threat that it represents for indian ruling classes.
We cannot but salute the elimination of the counter-revolutionary militia Salwa Judum’s chief, Mahendra Karma, which the awful crimes were published in the 25th May communiqué issued by Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee of CPI (Maoist) :
“One can hardly find any examples in the history to compare the severity of the devastation and barbarity caused by Salwa Judum to the lives of the Bastar people. It killed more than one thousand people in cold blood; torched 640 villages into ashes, robbed thousands of houses; ate or took away chickens, goats, pigs, etc.; forced more than two million people to be displaced; dragged more than 50 thousand people into state-run ‘relief’ camps. Thus the Salwa Judum became an anathema to the people. Hundreds of women were gang raped. Many women were murdered after rape. Massacres took place in many places. The atrocities perpetrated on the people and havoc created by the hooligans of Salwa Judum, the police and paramilitary forces, especially the Naga and Mizo battalions crossed all limits. There were several incidents in which people were brutally cut into pieces before being dumped in rivers. Cherli, Kotrapal, Mankeli, Karremarka, Mosla, Munder, Padeda, Paralnar, Pumbad, Gaganpalli... in a number of villages people were killed en masse. Hundreds of tribal youth were recruited as SPOs and were turned into hardened criminals. Mahendra Karma himself led the attacks on several villages in the name of conducting meetings and marches. Many women were raped by the goons with the direct instigation of Mahendra Karma. He was directly involved in many incidents of burning the villages, torturing and murdering the people. Thus, in the minds of the people of Bastar, Mahendra Karma remained as an inhuman killer, rapist, dacoit and a loyal broker of the big capitalists. In entire Bastar people have been demanding our party and the PLGA for many years that he must be punished. Many of them came forward voluntarily to give active support in this task. There were also a few attempts, but due to petty mistakes and other reasons he was able to escape.”
We reiterate once again our support to the Communist Party of India (maoist) in its hard struggle against indian state which relies on several imperialist powers in its war against its own people, including France which is supposed to deliver 126 Rafale warplanes and 63 optional.
We reaffirm that our support to People’s War in India can only find its full-fledged existence in the development of revolution in our own country, led against our own imperialism. We follow in that sense proletarian internationalism as defined by Lenin : “There is one, and only one, kind of real internationalism and that is working wholeheartedly for the development of the revolutionary movement and the revolutionary struggle in one’s own country, and supporting (by propaganda, sympathy, and material aid) this struggle, this, and only this, line, in every country without exception.”
We salute the development of revolutionary people’s governments (Krantikari Janatana Sarkars) in the red areas despite the ferocious fights that oppose revolutionaries to state armed forces. These represent the future of indian society, a development to serve the people opposed to capitalist development imposed by ruling classes from which people’s masses are suffering.
We salute the revolutionary women in their struggle to break the specific oppression which they are suffering from, particularly in a semi-feodal society like indian society.
We salute the adivasis, dalits and religious and national minorities which are suffering from cast and hindu chauvinist domination and from indian expansionism.
We salute the male and female workers who are struggling against the dreadful exploitation of their bosses, puppets of imperialist monopolies.
We salute the peasantry and agricultural workers who oppose to feudal landlords.
We salute the intellectuals and students who are siding with the exploited and oppressed by supporting actively People’s War and opposing Green Hunt Operation.
We salute the large people’s masses who struggle on a daily basis for their liberation and emancipation.
In our country, we are working actively so that echoes of the People’s War in India will reach the hearts of the factories, people’s neighborhoods, universities, schools to strengthen and develop class struggle for revolution.
Long live Communist Party of India (maoist) !
Long live People’s War in India !
Long live proletarian internationalism !
Long live world proletarian revolution !

The Special Office for the Protection of Children (SOPC) of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) takes strong exception to the false and biased reports of the UN Office of the Special Representative for Children in Armed Conflict (SRCAC) on the so-called recruitment and use of children by the New People’s Army (NPA).
Those claimed to be child soldiers were civilians whom the AFP had illegally arrested, detained and tortured or killed during military operations against communities suspected of supporting or under the influence of the revolutionary movement.

After consultations with its regional representatives, the SOPC has confirmed that the allegations by the UN SRCAC of recruitment and use of children by the NPA in 2012 are baseless. Those claimed to be child soldiers were civilians whom the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) had illegally arrested, detained and tortured or killed during military operations on what the Manila government calls “peace and development projects” against communities suspected of supporting or under the influence of the revolutionary movement.
'
All of these children happened to be in areas close to where armed encounters between the AFP and the NPA took place. One was killed because of indiscriminate gunfire by AFP soldiers; others had been traumatized by artillery and aerial bombardments and were arrested while attempting to seek refuge in nearby communities.
The AFP practice of targeting children in communities and presenting them as child soldiers was again exposed on 23 June 2013 by the Mindanao Human Rights Action Center (MinHRAC) when they presented to the media three teenagers who were arrested and detained by the AFP in Kulasi, Sultan Kudarat, for purportedly being rebels when they were actually refugees who were attempting to return to their homes with adult companions to get their belongings after having evacuated from their community due to an armed encounter between the AFP and the NPA.
We urge the UN SRCAC to advice its Philippine Country Task Force for Monitoring and Reporting (CTFMR) to be more discerning and circumspect in the performance of its functions by exercising basic due diligence and not relying solely on reports by agencies of the Government of the Philippines (GPH) such as the AFP, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Commission on Human Rights (CHR).
The CTFMR as befitting its mandate should investigate the situation on the ground by talking to the people in the concerned community – the parents, teachers, independent human rights groups and even local officials. The illegally arrested and detained children have suffered enough and should not be coaxed or coerced into making false statements and incriminating admissions while in the presence of GPH officials.
We also urge the UN SRCAC and its country task force to submit their findings to the SOPC of the NDFP for appropriate verification and investigation of such reported alleged recruitment and use of children by the NPA. We deplore the fact that while the AFP is given an opportunity to respond, the NDFP through its SOPC has not even been informed of such allegations.
'
The NDFP has issued its Declaration and Program of Action for the Rights, Protection and Welfare of Children. The policies and program of the NDFP to protect the rights of children are clearly stated in this document. This document is strictly followed by all the allied organizations of the NDFP, which include the New People's Army and the Communist Party of the Philippines.

Message of Solidarity with People's War in India from National Democratic Front of the Philippines
We are confident that the Communist Party of India (Maoist) will win victory against the “War on People” being waged by the Indian reactionaries supported by US imperialism and other imperialist powers.
Message of solidarity to the People's War in India led by the CPI (Maoist)
By National Executive Committee
National Democratic Front of the Philippines
National Democratic Front of the Philippines
On the occasion of the International Day of Support for the People's War in India, the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) conveys its warmest revolutionary greetings of solidarity and comradeship to the Communist Party of India (Maoist0, the People's Guerrilla Liberation Army (PGLA), and the revolutionary masses in India. The NDFP comprises the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the New People's Army (NPA) and 15 other revolutionary allied organizations.
We reiterate our firm support for the People's War in India launched and led by the Communist Party of India (Maoist). We are confident that, with the enthusiastic participation and support of the oppressed masses in India, the CPI (Maoist) will win victory against the fascist “War on People” being waged by the Indian reactionaries supported by US imperialism and other imperialist powers.
The regime's “Operation Green Hunt” and other forms of its “War on People” are bound to be defeated by the Indian revolutionary forces led by the CPI (Maoist). As Comrade Ganapathy, Secretary General of CPI (Maoist) has aptly declared, “People who are the makers of history will rise up like a tornado under our party's leadership to wipe out the reactionary blood-sucking vampires ruling our country.”
In the Philippines, the Filipino people are also waging a People's War against US imperialism and the local reactionaries of big landlords and compradors. We are fighting against the US-designed fascist counter-insurgency program, deceptively named “Oplan Bayanihan” (Operation Plan Cooperation), which perpetrates gross human rights violations against the peasants, workers, indigenous people, urban poor, women, youth and other sectors of the people. The puppet Aquino regime carries out the neoliberal policies of liberalization, deregulation, and privatization..The oppressed masses in the Philippines are rising to wage militant struggles led by the CPP.. They participate and enthusiastically support the people's war that is now being carried out in 70 out of 81 provinces of the country.
We take this occasion to render our revolutionary salute to Comrade Azad and all the martyrs of the Indian people's Revolution. They live in the People's War and anti-imperialist and revolutionary struggles in India and in the world. We likewise honor our beloved guerrilla commander and spokesperson of the CPP, Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal and other revolutionary martyrs of the Filipino people.
We salute our comrades-in-arms waging People's War in India! We wish them and the Indian people they lead ever greater victories in their New Democratic Revolution and in establishing the People's Democratic Federal Republic and thereafter the socialist system, Their brilliant victories inspire us and other revolutionary forces in the world.
We take this opportunity to express our very deep appreciation for the week of solidarity last April which the CPI (Maoist) carried out for the CPP and the People's War in the Philippines.

Democracy and Class Struggle publish this video has useful background to current events in Turkey even though the talk was given in March 2012 for a better analysis of Kemalism see :
Taksim and Tahrir are both against Neo-Liberalism with a Muslim face, however the opposition forces to neo liberalism need to raise up the three magic weapons of revolutionary change the revolutionary party, the united front and the people's army guided by the ideology of Marxism Leninism Maoism and expose the fake revolutionaries like Otpor and other capitalist hijackers of people's revolt .
Egypt massive anti-govt rally in Cairo's Tahrir Square 30 june 2013
Huge protests across Egypt calling
for the resignation of President Mohammed Morsi have taken place through the
night, with some outbreaks of violence.
In the capital, Cairo, tens of thousands of people massed in Tahrir Square and outside the presidential palace in the biggest demonstration there since the 2011 revolution.
At least one person was killed in clashes at Cairo's headquarters of Mr Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood movement.
Four others died in clashes elsewhere.
Millions of protesters across the country accuse the country's first Islamist president of failing to tackle economic and security problems since taking power a year ago.
Democracy and Class Struggle welcomes the exposure of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt but is well aware that other pro - neo liberal contenders are trying to hi jack the people's movement, we have warned about Otpor but they are only one of many organisations and states like Qatar and Saudi Arabia trying to subvert the Egyptian Revolution, until a revolutionary party, a united front and people's army come into existence in Egypt guided by Marxism Leninism Maoism there will be no permanent gains from the struggle.
