Collapse of Army Integration in Nepal ?

On Sunday 15th April  4,052 combatants from all PLA camps wished voluntary retirement by Monday 16th April another 1500 combatants have decided to go for retirement.

Army Integration collapse might possibly be too strong at this stage, but Army Integration has certainly fallen into disrepute and it is now expected that less than 3000 will transfer as the number seeking voluntary retirement swells by the day.

A few months ago it was the other way around with worries that more than the agreed 6,500 would want integration.

The problem is that the PLA soliders are concerned about their security and dignity following integration into the Nepalese Army, given that Prachanda and Bhattarai did not even protect them in the cantonments and invited the Nepalese Army into the cantonments in the last week, the majority of PLA have no confidence in the integration process anymore.

Democracy and Class Struggle says this collapse from the original PLA Army Integration figures is due to the betrayal of the PLA by the Party Establishment and in particular Prachanda and Bhattarai.

Their actions not only creates security problems for ex PLA but also for themselves has they will soon be cast aside by Nepal's elite now they have disarmed the PLA.
