Latest News - Nepal Elections - Maoists 109 seats out of 195 declared

Maoists continue their winning streak with 109 seats out of 195 seats declared so far, leaving the two main rivals, Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML, far behind.

With victories in Khotang, Ramechhap and Rukum districts the Maoists have bagged a total of 109 seats (till 7:00 pm) while Nepali Congress is in second position with 32 seats and the UML is trailing behind NC with 27 seats.

Results indicate that the Maoists are close to a majority under the 240-seat first-past-the-post system.
