No. 68: Neoimperialism and Labor Compression

"Neoimperialism, by way of a new international division of labour, has emerged in the shape of ‘global value chains’ over the last two to three decades. Taking advantage of increased openness of developing countries to foreign investment, transnational corporations based in the developed countries have fragmented production processes across different low-wage locations.

"Only a negligible share of the value is captured in the developing countries, and the rest is captured in the developed countries, the lion’s share by the transnational corporations. The widespread labour protests in Asia clearly testify to the reality of compression (degradation and repression) of labour in these chains."

Indian Workers Association says Freedom to Abdullah Ocalan, leader of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)!

Freedom to Abdullah Ocalan, leader of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)!

Remove the PKK from the list of proscribed terrorist organisations!

Freedom to all political prisoners across all countries!

Long live the right to self-determination of Kurdish people!

Long live the fruits of Rojava!

As the global economic crisis of the neoliberal capitalist system is deepening, the neo-colonial corporate onslaught on the working class of the world is intensifying. On the other hand people of several nationalities under occupation, have been increasingly subjected to more and more national oppression by mightier nation-states. Kurdish people are one of such oppressed nationalities, who have been struggling to defend their right to self-determination.

On the occasion of launching of the book (in London on 19th June 2017) ‘Capitalism – The Age of Unmasked Gods and Naked Kings’ authored by Abdullah Ocalan the imprisoned leader of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), we at the Indian Workers’ Association, Great Britain, once again demand his immediate release by Turkey. Subsequent to being denied the right to claim political asylum in Europe (which was in flagrant violation of international laws), Abdullah Ocalan was captured in 1999 in Kenya by Turkish undercover special forces personnel.

The Kurdish people rightly regard his arrest as an international conspiracy by CIA, Mossad and MI6 in collusion with the Turkish State. Ever since his arrest, Ocalan has been kept in solitary confinement, in a prison on the island of Imrali near Istanbul. Turkey, the US and the EU have designated the PKK as a terrorist organisation.

Over the decades, more than 40,000 Kurdish people and freedom fighters from PKK have been killed by the Turkish State in extra-judicial ways; many more thousands have been illegally detained in Turkish jails. Thousands of Kurdish homes have been destroyed.

In the aftermath of the so called coup attempt of July 2016, President Erdogan consolidated his power throughout the year. There has been intense crack down on human rights in Turkey under his leadership. The government carried out mass arrests of journalists, closed multiple media outlets, and jailed elected opposition politicians.

It detained over 100,000 people including teachers, judges and prosecutors, suspended hundreds of nongovernmental groups, and consolidated government control over the courts.

Those who were detained include several working class people and activists of Communist organisations.

Many of those who were detained were subjected to torture, rape and sexual abuse. This repression on the people has become even worse after the recent rigged referendum that gives Erdogan more and more powers.

It is needless to mention that Kurdish people are the worst affected by Erdogan’s dictatorial rule which has been especially brutal in the Kurdish region of the country. Turkish military has recently conducted air raids on the Kurdish region bordering Iraq and Iran, in which several Kurdish freedom fighters and civilians were killed and homes destroyed.

The IWA (GB), calls for restoration of democratic rights in Turkey and an end to repression on Kurdish population. We demand the release of all political prisoners in Turkey, including Abdulla Ocalan, the leader of the PKK. We reiterate our solidarity with the Kurdish people, who have been struggling for their right to self-determination in Turkey as well as in Syria, Iran and Iraq.

In solidarity,

Former South Korean President Park Geun-hye was making plans to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to Japan’s Asahi Shimbun national newspaper.

Democracy and Class Struggle makes what should be an obvious point that assassination as a policy pursued by South Korean disgraced former President Park Geun-hye was a road to nowhere and certainly not inter Korean dialogue.

The New South Koren President Moon Jae-in is said not to support such a policy but his rogue intelligence service and the CIA North Korean Centre canot be relied on not to pursue such negative policies unless a major overall of these organisations is undertaken.

Former South Korean President Park Geun-hye was making plans to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to Japan’s Asahi Shimbun national newspaper.

Ex-president Park, who was impeached due to a corruption scandal, signed a document approving a “leadership change” in North Korea back in 2015, the national daily reported on Monday citing unnamed sources. South Korea’s intelligence agencies were to prepare operations to carry out the plan.

The report notes that the plotters considered arranging accidents, with a car accident or the derailment of a train carrying Kim Jong-un on the table.

Park’s administration also reportedly considered staging a coup in North Korea.

The military activities of South Korea’s communist neighbor, including its nuclear arms development programs, apparently motivated the alleged plot, Asahi Shimbun notes.

Tension between Seoul and Pyongyang spiked in August of 2015 as the countries exchanged fire after the North fired a projectile at the border city of Yeoncheon.

However, the plans to assassinate the North Korean leader were not picked up by President Moon Jae-in’s administration after Park’s impeachment, the daily reports.

In May, North Korea accused US and South Korean spy agencies of plotting to kill Kim Jong-un with some “biochemical substances,” the country’s Ministry of State Security said, as quoted by AFP.

The Establishment's Russia Fixation Takes a Dark Turn : An Interview With Stephen F. Cohen

Marcio Rubio threatens sovereignty of States and Venezuela says bye bye OAS - we are not lapdogs of US Imperialism - we are a sovereign nation

The CIA World View - Defending the Barbarism of Saudi Arabia while targeting Iran and North Korea Mike Pompeo Style

Defending and implementing Barbarism in the Korean War, Vietnam or Indonesia is nothing new for the CIA  and its history is well known.

Mike Pompeo's current defense of Saudi Arabia despite knowledge of its barbarism continues the old CIA tradition - his blindsighting Saudi Arabia to push Iran rather than ISIL and its Saudis backers to top of terror list is no surprise but fundamentally wrong.

This interview shows the unreal and irrational nature of the CIA and its worldview - but the real and rational is more widely known in the world today and the self evident absurdity of the CIA worldview recognised for the self deception that it is.

We are to believe that North Korea which is threatened by approximately 1000 US based nuclear weapons in South Korea is the real threat to world peace because it has the audacity to develop nuclear weapons to defend itself from US nuclear threats. The Assumption that North Korea poses a threat to US has never been tested just asserted.

Time to get real and get rational and end this self deception which is nothing but the CIA road to barbarism and war Mike Pompeo Style.
