North Korea says it would stop its nuclear tests if the United States signed a peace treaty with Pyongyang and stopped its joint annual military maneuvers with South Korea.

A US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier has arrived in South Korea’s largest port city to take part in joint war games

North Korea says it would stop its nuclear tests if the United States signed a peace treaty with Pyongyang and stopped its joint annual military maneuvers with South Korea.

An unnamed spokesman for North Korea’s Foreign Ministry made the offer early on Saturday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

“Still valid are all proposals for preserving peace and stability on the [Korean] Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, including the ones for ceasing our nuclear test and the conclusion of a peace treaty in return for US halt to joint military exercises,” the spokesman said.

In response to a question concerning Pyongyang’s call for a peace treaty, the US State Department said recently it remained open to dialogue. The onus, it said, was on North Korea to take “meaningful actions toward denuclearization.”

The two Koreas remain technically at war as the 1950-53 Korean War ended in an armistice, not a peace agreement.

North Korea is irked by the joint military maneuvers conducted by Seoul and Washington and views them as direct threats against its security. The United States has some 28,500 troops in South Korea.

Asked whether Washington would consider a halt to its joint exercises with South Korea,

US State Department spokesman John Kirby said lately that Washington had alliance commitments to Seoul.

Elsewhere in his comments, the North Korean official described the recent hydrogen bomb test by Pyongyang as a justifiable move to ensure its survival against external threats.

“In response to the US continuously invading our sovereignty and making threatening provocations, we will acquire ourselves with all possible nuclear attack and nuclear retaliation abilities, but will not thoughtlessly use our nuclear weapons,” he said.

On January 6, North Korea said it had successfully conducted its first hydrogen bomb test. The country also pledged to continue developing its nuclear program as a means of “deterrence” against potential acts of aggression from the US.

Pyongyang is under UN sanctions over launching missiles considered by the US and South Korea as ballistic and aimed at delivering nuclear warheads, Press TV reported.

Kurdish and Turkish organisations announce the Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement Established

10 revolutionary organisations from Kurdistan and Turkey have announced the establishment of the Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement.

Representatives of the 10 revolutionary organisations attended a joint press meeting in guerrilla zones to announce their alliance with the purpose of stepping up the revolution in all areas including armed struggle against the “collaborative fascist AKP and TC (Turkish Republic) system of sovereignty”.

PKK Executive Committee Member Duran Kalkan, who read out the statement, listed the names of the revolutionary organisations from Turkey and Kurdistan that make up the alliance.

These are: TKP/ML, PKK, THKP-C/MLSPB, MKP, TKEP-LENINIST, TEKP, DKP, DEVRÎMCÎ KARARGAH and MLKP.

Kalkan said “this unity of revolutionary forces has been formed to accomplish revolution against the AKP that is trying to establish a new fascist dictatorship by restoring the fascist military coups of 12 March and 12 September”.

He pointed out that the declaration of this movement coincided with the 45th anniversary of the 12 March 1971 fascist military coup, the 21st anniversary of the 12 March 1995 Gazi massacre, and the 12th anniversary of the 12 March 2004 Qamishlo massacre.

Kalkan continued by inviting all revolutionary organisations and societal circles, that want to fight fascism, to join the joint struggle.

Kalkan's speech was followed by the read-out of the joint declaration in Turkish and Kurdish, which called attention to the ongoing crisis and war in the Middle East that threatens the whole of humanity.

Stressing that the AKP government is taking part in one of the dirtiest alliances formed by regional and international powers in this bloody war, the joint declaration pointed to the all-out war that the AKP is waging against all the peoples and opposition groups in the country today.

The declaration stated:

"The Turkish Republic is trying hard to establish a one-party dictatorship and suppress the entire opposition by gathering behind itself all the traditional, modern, reactionary and fascist powers of the system of sovereignty.

This bloody and fascist alliance is being sustained over enmity against the Kurds today. The heavy destruction, pain and exploitation created by regional powers has brought the revolutionary potential to maturity and has paved the way for the Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement.

Defending and progressing the Rojava revolution, Kurdish resistance for self-rule and the United Revolutionary Struggle of our peoples means defending the life and future of all the oppressed, labourers, intellectuals, democrats and all the people.

No social circle in Turkey has a safe future within this system as all opposition powers are under attack.

If the Kurdish resistance for self-rule gets broken, the AKP government will suppress the entire opposition in Turkey with blood in the same veracity and cruelty.

The future of progressive, revolutionary and pro-labor circles in Turkey is therefore intertwined with the future of the Kurdish resistance”.

The statement underlined that the Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement aims to attain democracy and a free future for the peoples against imperialism, capitalism, chauvinism, fascism and racism.

The Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement called upon everyone victim to fascism and reactionism, mainly women, youth and workers to organise, unite and fight for freedom, democracy and the fraternity of peoples.

Prior to reading the declaration, Duran Kalkan, member of the Executive Committee of the PKK, said these words: “We find ourselves here to be a part of a declaration that will doom fascism here and today, and which will be a new glimmer of hope for our peoples.” Afterward, he listed in the order given below the names of the revolutionary organisations of Turkey and Kurdistan that having being engaging in discussion since December and that have made the decision to unite their forces and to carry out actions together:

TKP/ML (Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist)

PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party)

THKP-C/MLSPB (Front-Liberation Party of the People of Turkey / Marxist-Leninist Armed Propaganda Unit)

TEKB (Revolutionary Communist League of Turkey)

DKP (Revolutionary Communard Party)

Devrimci Karargâh  (Revolutionary Headquarter)

Moreover, the Proleter Devrimciler Koordinasyonu (Coordination of Revolutionary Proletarians) has announced to join the Revolutionary United Movement. Also, an organisation by the name of Dirili? Hareket (Renaissance Movement), which took part at the discussions, has announced that it is considering to join the Movement.

Anti Trump Protests in Chicago - Chicago wakes up to Trumpism - American's must wake up to Trumpism - 21st Century Fascism

Fascism: I sometimes fear...
"I sometimes fear that
people think that fascism arrives in fancy dress
worn by grotesques and monsters
as played out in endless re-runs of the Nazis.

Fascism arrives as your friend.
It will restore your honour,
make you feel proud,
protect your house,
give you a job,
clean up the neighbourhood,
remind you of how great you once were,
clear out the venal and the corrupt,
remove anything you feel is unlike you...

It doesn't walk in saying,
"Our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

Michael Rosen

;
Ilya Sheyman, executive director of MoveOn.org Political Action, responded to news of the postponement of Donald Trump’s rally in Chicago on Friday:
“Mr. Trump and the Republican leaders who support him and his hate-filled rhetoric should be on notice after tonight’s events. These protests are a direct result of the violence that has occurred at Trump rallies and that has been encouraged by Trump himself from the stage. Our country is better than the shameful, dangerous, and bigoted rhetoric that has been the hallmark of the Trump campaign. To all of those who took to the streets of Chicago, we say thank you for standing up and saying enough is enough. To Donald Trump, and the GOP, we say, welcome to the general election. Trump and those who peddle hate and incite violence have no place in our politics and most certainly do not belong in the White House.”

If we could learn to look instead of gawking,
We'd see the horror in the heart of farce,
If only we could act instead of talking,
We wouldnt always end up on our arse.
This was the thing that nearly has us mastered;
Dont rejoyce in his defeat, you men!
Although the world stood up and stopped the bastard,
The bitch that bore him is in heat again.

Korean Peninsular Alert from Democracy and Class Struggle

Democracy and Class Struggle is greatly concerned at the increase in tension on the North/South Korean border and the return of US - South Korean Military War Games which will run until 30th April.

The North Korean rhetoric must be seen in the context of these War Games and not in isolation from them has Western Media portrays the North Koreans has madmen rather than people in a country rationally trying to defend itself from a military superior alliance with thousands of nuclear weapons which annually threatens it.

We also note that the Russian Foreign Ministry is emphasising the North Korean Rhetoric and NOT the provocative WAR GAMES against North Korea for it own short term geo -political reasons - a serious mistake.

BELOW IS A BBC REPORT ON US - SOUTH KOREAN MILITARY EXERCISES

The US and South Korea are set to begin their largest ever joint military exercises amid high tensions on the Korean peninsula.

More than 300,000 South Korean and 15,000 US troops will take part in the drills,Yonhap news agency reported, citing a military official.

South Korean defence minister Han Min-koo has said the exercises will be twice the size of last year.

The drills start days after the UN passed new sanctions on North Korea.

Security tensions have increased since the North tested a nuclear device in January, followed by a rocket launch.

The North responded to the sanctions by saying it was readying nuclear weapons for 'pre-emptive' use, and firing short-range missiles into the sea.

Military analysts doubt the country has the ability to put nuclear warheads on its missiles.

The exercises, which begin on Monday and run until 30 April, are intended to warn North Korea against provocations, Mr Han was reported as saying.

North Korea sees the annual war games as a rehearsal for invasion.

The US and South Korea on Friday also began formal talks on the deployment of the US missile defence system to the peninsula, a move strongly opposed by North Korea, Russia and China.

Beijing says the Thaad anti-missile system compromises its security and would undermine its nuclear deterrent.

Can South Korea defend itself?

The BBC asks the wrong question it should be can North Korea Defend itself from US South Korean provocations which have become annual events probing North Korean Defences and the Northern Limit Line a self declared line by US and South Korea inside North Korean Territorial Waters

Nuclear Threats Against North Korea from United States

Koreans had to deal with the reality of nuclear weapons for decades , many thousands of Koreans were used as slave labour by the Japanese in World War II and many of these were forced labour workers in Hiroshima and Nagasaki when the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb.

In the U.S. war in Korea, U.S. General MacArthur wanted to drop 50-70 atomic bombs along the China-Korea border to create a belt of land people cannot live on or cross

Later in the Pueblo incident in 1968, when the DPRK captured a U.S. spy ship in North Korean waters, President Johnson sent aircraft carriers with nuclear weapons to Korea.

And in 1969 when the U.S. spy plane was shot down over North Korean territory, the U.S. again threatened North Korea with a nuclear attack.

The “Team Spirit” U.S.-south Korea war exercises from the 1970s to the 1990s practiced with using nuclear bombs.

The U.S. has over 1000 nuclear weapons in South Korea – nuclear artillery, nuclear missiles, nuclear bombs.
