SOUTH AFRICA'S RULING ANC IN PARLIAMENT CALLS FOR ISRAELI AMBASSADOR TO IMMEDIATELY LEAVE SOUTH AFRICA

Democracy and Class Struggle says it is time for South Africa to take the lead and expel the Israeli Ambassador Now !

Following nationwide protests across South Africa against the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza (Israel has killed over 400 Palestinians including 100 children in the last 10 days) the ANC in Parliament has called for the Israeli ambassador in South Africa to leave with immediate effect.

The ANC must implement this and the decision to recall the South African Ambassador from Tel Aviv with urgency. Click here for the full statement on Gaza released by ANC Chief Whip in Parliament, Stone Sizani MP.
The virtual entirety of South African political and civil society is calling for the expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador from South Africa from the ANC (click here) to the Economic Freedom Fighters (click here), ANC Youth League (click here), Young Communist League (click here), COSATU (click here), NUMSA (click here), Nehawu, the Christian Faith Based Kairos Southern Africa (click here), MJC, Jamiat Ulama, National Association of Democratic Lawyers (Click here), 72 Leading South African Jews (click here), anti-apartheid stalwarts including Ahmed Kathrda, Ronnie Kasrils (click here) and various others are all calling on our Government to expel the Israeli Ambassador as a form of diplomatic protest against the wanton killing of Palestinians.

The latest Israeli massacre conducted on Sunday morning in one of the poorest and most crowded neighborhoods of Gaza, the neighborhood of Shejaiya.

Our South African Government must show leadership, take decisive action and move beyond words. Its time for our South African Government to join the progressive countries and leaders of the world

Its time to send a clear message to Israel that its violations of international law and what it is doing in the Palestinian Gaza Strip is unacceptable.

Its time to #ExpelIsraeliAmbassador. Play your part by communicating this to all structures of government - councilours, mayors, premiers, ministers and all other officials because our government, on this issue and on the call for the expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador, has the support from virtually the entirety of South African civil society.

“Venezuela rejects the cynical campaigns trying to condemn both parties [Palestinians and Israel] equally. It is clear you cannot morally compare occupied and massacred Palestine with the occupying state, Israel, which also possesses military superiority and acts on the margins of international law.”
