Former supporters of the English and Welsh miners camped on the plaza in Spain A group of former British miners have been camped this afternoon with the square of Spain in Oviedo.
They are conducting a campaign to extend solidarity with the Spanish miners and their families. Graeme, John and Sian know first hand the consequences of the dismantling of the coal industry.
They come from Wales, Yorkshire and Durham.
Three mining regions which were destroyed three decades ago. The dismantling of mining swept away nearly 220,000 jobs and, although there was no alternative, yes many gestures of solidarity.
His goal now is to campaign to extend solidarity with the Spanish miners.
They've formed a support committee and are raising funds for families affected by the strike.
In addition, representations of Polish miners, Chilean and German are these days visiting Asturias to show their support for workers who have an indefinite strike.
This has been confirmed sources of union-FIA-UGT SOMA, which have realized the support and the "international repercussions" that the conflict in the Asturian and Spanish mining is having worldwide.
