The Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF), which had dashed to support the candidate of Nepali Congress during the presidential election, has been embroiled in internal dispute after some central committee members expressed dissatisfaction over such abrupt decision.
Nine central committee members of the party demanded the central committee meeting immediately alleging that party coordinator Upendra Yadav has been acting at his whims.
B. P. Yadav, Amar Yadav, Nilam Verma, Sandhya Dev, Sasib Siddiqi, Rabindra Thakur, Bhupendra Chaudhary and Asha Chaturbedi submitted written application demanding a central committee meeting.
The party's by-law states that the coordinator would be compelled to call such meeting on the demand of at least one-fourth members of the 30-member central committee. The meeting has been called for Wednesday.
The party has formed a political bureau within the central committee including coordinator Yadav, Ram Sahaya Yadav, J. P. Gupta, Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, Sita Nandan Raya and Renu Yadav, which has been taking major political decisions without holding central committee meeting.
The disgruntled leaders are likely to seek explanation from the party leaders regarding the decision to support NC candidate Dr Ram Baran Yadav during the presidential election, without taking formal decision from the central committee.
