Democracy and Class Struggle says you do not just judge a period in history by what it says about itself  but also by its art music and culture.

By the criteria of art, music and culture the Soviet Union was an outstanding success,

However its greatest success was as Lenin said to Colonel Lionel Robins the light it shone on the world made it possible to glimpse that another world was possible. 

That new world is still in the making.
