Prachanda (Dahal) to leave for week long China tour Sunday

Vice chairman Mohan Baidya, party's foreign department chief Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Dahal's son Prakash will accompany him during the trip.

Speaking at an interaction organised by Janasanchar Abhiyan in the capital Saturday, Mahara said the visit will be fruitful in strengthening the ties between the Chinese Communist Party and the Unified CPN (Maoist) as well as the two countries.

Mahara, however, did not divulge details of the engagements in Beijing. He said the team will decide whom to meet only after landing in Beijing.

This is the second visit of the Maoist chairman to China. He had visited Beijing in August last year as the Prime Minister, breaking the tradition of Nepalese Prime Ministers making India as their first official foreign destination.
