REPRESENTED THE MOVEMENT AGAINST ASCENDANCY OF FASCSIM AS A WHOLE, PARTICULARLY OF HINDU SAFFRON VARIETY.
A THORN IN THE FLESH OF HINDU FASCIST RULERS.
Salute protest rally and march of democratic front against operation greenhunt in Barnala today against arrest of 'urban Maoists or intellectuals .'Symbolic of the struggle of entire Indian people against the fascizisation of the state.
Around 500 attended representing all democratic sections. Resolutions were passed condemning the arrests and false framing of intellectuals in Bhim - koregaon case,against the policy just introduced giving agencies right to completely monitor all computers and against the Bulandshshar attack attack of RSS in Uttar Pradesh.
Qualitatively a major event combating proto -fascism by organizing the basic masses. , particularly of Hindu fascist variety.
Particular emphasis was placed on the release of the 'urban maoists' like Varavara Rao ,Vernon Gonzalves or Sudha Bhardwaj and dropping of charges on Gautam Navlakha etc.
With great depth the fascist conspiracy of rulers to protect those responsible for Bhima-Koregaon riots like Miind Ekbote and Bhide were explained.
Main speaker was Himanshu Kumar who condemned the proto fascism and spoke volumes of the organised movement against state repression in Punjab.Convened by Dr.Parminder Singh and presided by N K Jeet.Attarjeet Kanahikar also presided.
Himanshu Kumar from Chattisgarh summed up the main features of Hindu Fascism in the last decade highlighting the opression and discrimination on the Muslim minority and the pro-corporate policies of the govt.His vice was symbolic of that of the democratic movement of the Indian people as a whole.
He narrated how 90% of the prisoners were Muslims who were morally innocent and framed and how so many Muslims were threatened to migrate to Pakistan.Touched upon the fascist opression in Kasmir.
He connected the pro-globalisation policies and liberalization with the Hindutva fascist agenda and how they complemented each other.
He gave numerous cases of how the RSS distorted the role of Mulsims in anti-British struggle by labelling them as pro colonial collaborators .
.He exposed the utter hypocrisy of the opposition Congress party in projecting iteslf as secular and pro-poor when in essence they were hardly different from the rulers today.The past history of Congress was summarized explaining how Congress gave blessings to even Islamic fundamentalist elements but basically blessed Hindutva.With great detail he explained the hypocrisy of the anti-Pakistan propaganda of the rulers today.
With meticulous detail and depth he explained the pro-rich,anti-people economic policies of the BJP govt touching on experiences of the very day to day lives of the people.
The issue of education was highlighted where Himanshu Kumar explained how it was made a virtual monopoly of the rich in consonance with the right-wing agenda of the Bharatiya Janata party.
Numerous examples of corruption were also touched upon Himanshu condemned vociferously the sheer apathy of people like RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat towards the suicides of the peasantry and the grabbing of land by the Ambanis,Adanis and Tatas.
Himanshu brilliantly illustrated how the paramilitary forces burned 600 villages in Chattisgarh to endorse corporate loot and displace 7 lakh adivasis.In depth he explained how the state banged every tooth and nail to support projects for the rich..Himanshu narrated how so many democrats were victimized like Vinayak Sen.
He greatly praised the democratic revolutionary movement of Punjab of the workers,youth and peasantry speaking volumes of their great resilience in combating proto-fascism.
Sadly the other speaker invited, Anirban Bhattacharya of Delhi University could not attend because of facing sedition charges.
After the conclusion of the event a protest march was launched for around twenty minutes shouting slogans condemning the fascist agenda and actions of the Modi Govt.which had a great impact on the layman.
The success of the event was a tribute to the democratic revolutionary movement of Punjab as a whole and the grassroots work in the basic masses..
In no other state have such qualitative protests been organized.in term s of the galvanization of the basic classes.
All participants listened to the speeches being thoroughly engrossed ,participating with great intensity.
Proved that the Democartic Front aginst Operation Greenhunt has played and is till performing a historic role in planting the seed sto extinguish the ascendancy of Fascism
