A likely factor in why the DHKP-C never joined that HBDH (United Revolutionary Movement of the Peoples) project although a number of other left groups from Turkey with armed wings did. The DHKP-C is intensely anti-US and encountering US troops in Rojava would at the very least be politically problematic for it.
