India: Red Salute to Comrade Prabhakar killed by murderous Indian State last Friday
Warangal: Huge number of rights activists, friends and relatives turned out for the final rites of Dadaboina Swamy alias Prabhakar, who was killed in police encounter in Pujarikanker forests in Chhattisgarh on Friday.
On receiving information from the police about the Maoist’s death, his family members rushed to Bhadrachalam to take over the body from the police. Swamy’s body arrived here during late night hours of Saturday and the funeral rites were conducted on Sunday at his village Rampet near Kazipet in Warangal urban district.
According to Swamy’s brother Sammaiah, the slain Maoist joined outlawed CPI (Maoist) party in 2001.He maintained contacts with family till 2007. After that none of the family members have seen him as he left Warangal with the police increasing watch on his activities.
Many Maoist sympathisers and the leaders of Telangana Revolutionary Writers Forum, Human Rights Forum, Telangana Prajaswamya Vedika and others expressed condolence over Swamy’s death.
Human Rights Forum leader Ananthula Suresh demanded a probe into the police encounter by a sitting judge. He alleged that the story told by the police the Maoists were killed after they opened fire in self-defence was a phony tale, he said.
Telangana Prajaswamya Vedika leader Ch Prabhakar stated that the Maoists were killed in one-sided fire. The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was crossing State borders in eliminating the Maoists and he was acting like AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for the killings of large number of Maoists, he added.
Revolutionary Writers’ Forum leader MA Basith also alleged that the encounter was fake and held Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Telangana responsible for it and demanded the governments to stop hunting the Maoist forthwith.
