India: At least 10 Maoist comrades of CPI (Maoist) were killed in an encounter with the Greyhound anti-insurgency police force in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district on Friday.

HYDERABAD: At least 10 Maoist comrades of CPI (Maoist) were killed in an encounter with the Greyhound anti-insurgency police force in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district on Friday.

A Greyhound Commando who was injured in the operation died later in hospital. Police claim to have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition including one AK-47, one SLR and five INSAS rifles.

Haribhushan the Telangana State Secretary of CPI Maoist is thought to be safe although this needs confirmation.
